Thanks Hybrid for explaining that. Makes more sense now.Yes it is because the FYC is horrible... The OST is what Steve & co wrote. The FYC is what came out of the Music Editing Factory, which I don't dig at all. Lots of micro edits & transformations Steve probably didn't even hear... lol

Real final mixes would look like the OST, not like the FYC...You gotta realize one thing, this score is US recorded so every new 15 min of score you release, you gotta pay back reuse fees. So it's very complicated & costy and that's why they released "only" 15 min of extra score.

If it was recorded in the UK, they could have released 2 hours of bonus tracks it wouldn't have cost anything more... :)

As for a chrono order, since all cues are mixed together in different tracks in the OST, it gets complicated... It works like that :

ARTHUR => Theme Suite + 5m30 + 1m05
KINGDOM OF ATLANTIS => 3m20-21
IT WASN'T MEANT TO BE => 1m01 + 1m04B
ATLANTEAN SOLDIERS => Theme Suite + 5m33 + 2m12
WHAT DOES THAT EVEN MEAN? => Theme Suite
THE LEGEND OF ATLAN => 6m39 + 4m23
SWIMMING LESSONS => 3m19 + 3m19B + 3m19C
THE BLACK MANTA => Theme Suite + 9m69
WHAT COULD BE GREATER THAN A KING? => 7m54 + 7m55 + 7m55A
PERMISSION TO COME ABOARD => 9m64 + 2m07
SUITED AND BOOTED => 8m57 + 8m59
BETWEEN LAND AND SEA => 7m51 + 8m61
HE COMMANDS THE SEA => 8m60 + 9m65
MAP IN A BOTTLE => 6m42 + 8m56
THE RING OF FIRE => 5m29 + 8m62
REUNITED => 9m68
TRENCH ENGAGED => 7m52
MERA MONTAGE => 6m43B + 6m48
HOME INVASION => 1m04 + 3m15
SAVING POPS => 3m18
AHAB WAVES => 3m17 + 2m06B
ASK THE SEA => 2m08B
OBLIGATION => 5m32
DUNES => 5m37-38Heitor Pereira, Satnam Ramgotra and Richard Harvey are credited musiciansSounds like a Zimmer version of the Top Gun Anthem to me. Whoever did it, it works!
me who seldom watch any of these superhero movies and remakes went and saw the new aladdin last weekend.

based on my own experience of that remake i have come to the conclusion that maybe some of the reviewers are stuck-up and not open-minded? i did enjoy the new takes on some of the songs. the new movie felt like that. a new different movie to me.

i decided that i will go and watch these movies for myself now. and i would not watch (or listen to original scores) in advance to build up expectation. i will go and enjoy my time and the songs.

that's all ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ you can't please everyone.To be honest. I love the bonus score tracks, nut those remixes are a wazte of disc soace in my opinion. Cuesheet is blank.oh yes please, including Balfe - don´t start yelling, I´m just really curious who did whatFinally! It would be nice to have composers credits@DT
Disney definitely tries to put quality into their projects, which is why I admire them. As you’ve said, WDAS and Pixar are both churning out some excellent and original films. Even Marvel, despite its formula and flaws, tries new things with the films and stick closely to the source material.

The problem with the remakes is that they seem to be nothing more than cash-grabs that prey on nostalgia. If you are going to retell a beloved story at least try something different and exciting, instead of trying to copy/paste what everyone has seen.This is where I wish we could edit our comments.

Not only do you have WDAS doing mostly-new movies (I hesitate to say 'original') but you have Pixar doing them as well. Toy Story 4 was their last sequel for the foreseeable future, with them even eschewing the popular option of doing an Inside Out sequel for original projects.
I feel like people are overreacting in a way that suggests these remakes have far more power than they actually do. The studio that makes them is separate from every other studio. WDAS is still creating new content and will be for many, many years to come, long after the remakes have had their heyday.

If anything, the proliferation of superhero films is far more likely to drown out originality on that front: there are multiple studios doing it.Order I went with for the album

Everything I Need (Film Version)
Arthur
Home Invasion (Bonus Track)
It Wasn't Meant To Be
Permission To Come Aboard
Ask the Sea (Bonus Track)
Atlantean Soldiers
Ahab Waves (Bonus Track)
Saving Pops (Bonus Track)	Soundtrack	0	1
Swimming Lessons
Kingdom of Atlantis
The Legend of Atlan
The Ring of Fire
What Does That Even Mean?Soundtrack	0
Obligation (Bonus Track)
Dunes (Bonus Track)
Map In a Bottle
Mera Montage
The Black Manta
Trench Engaged (From Kingdom of the Trench)	Soundtrack	0
Reunited
What Could Be Greater Than a King?
Suited and Booted
Between Land and Sea
He Commands the Sea
Ocean To Ocean (feat. The cue I want the most is “We Strike First”.@Edmund
I can’t agree enough. These remakes suffer from the issue of being inferior to the original source material, mainly because they rely so heavily on copying the originals so heavily. I’m not necessarily against Disney updating their classics if they are willing to do new takes on the material. Take Jungle Book for example; they were able to do something fresh with the concept while keeping elements of the animated film. Even Maleficent, which I’m not crazy about, tried something new.

Another BIG issue I’ve noticed is the fact that they lean towards hiring actors who cannot sing, or at least cannot sing on the level required. My love for Hans Zimmer's music began when I was ten and Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl came out. I am eighteen now and ever since that movie I have developed an extreme love for movies and soundtrack scores and when I go to see new movies, as well as immersing myself in the plot of the film, I pay close attention to the music that accompanies it.

After seeing Inception last year I decided that yes, it is now one of my favourite Zimmer scores. Especially 'Time'. I just finished watching the live performance on Youtube and I'm not going to lie, I was sitting in my chair weeping like a little child. I cannot express my love for Hans Zimmer and it's times like these, crying in my chair, that I wish I wasn't in Australia. We do not get live concerts from composers like Zimmer.

Oh man if I saw a live concert, I honestly don't think that any experience I would or could have in the future could EVER top that. It truthfully is my one and only wish.

BRILLIANT, BRILLIANT WORK.

I'm not sure if you actually ever read this, but I would like to applaud your work in pretty much every movie you've been in lately. The quality of the music is amazing, and I don't think people give the musicians behind everything enough credit. Anyway... You probably don't want to hear this from a 16 year old girl, but I think it's pretty amazing what you add to these movies, and I would die (not literally, of course) to be in a band or orchestra like yours.

Hi Hans

(I hope you sometimes find the time to read these comments).

While on a recent business trip to Mongolia, I took with me a selection of your music. This was a terrific combination of the wild, exotic and freezing (-35°) panoramic views, and your highly entertaining, emotive and classical (to me) music.

I particularly enjoyed The Dark Knight soundtrack as the soundtrack to my Mongolian visit.

I'm listening to it now (while in my office in Switzerland), and I feel like I am transported; not only back to Mongolia, but also to a very special and passionate place.

Long may you continue to entertain!
Thank you very much Hans!
Paul Davies.

Dear Mr. Zimmer,
I am a 17 year old girl who lives in Reno, NV. I know how unlikely that it is that this will receive any individual attention, but I could not stop myself from telling you how much your music has changed my life. Its powerful and raw, full of so much emotion. When I was a kid I used to watch movies over and over just to listen to the music. Now I actually have the majority of your soundtracks on my ipod. When I found this site I was ecstatic and thrilled like the band kid I am that there was a place where it all was. It is put together simply and easy to figure out. Basically, I just wanted to say thank you for bringing the wonders of your music into the light for all to hear.

This has been quite strangely generous of people like you to present easily what many individuals would have offered for sale as an electronic book to help with making some bucks for themselves, notably now that you could have done it if you considered necessary. These smart ideas additionally served like a fantastic way to comprehend other people online have a similar dreams just like my personal own to find out somewhat more with reference to this condition. I'm certain there are several more enjoyable instances in the future for folks who scan your forum post.

Hello Hans,

I would like to get your permission to use your transformers 2 -Arrival to Earth as the BG sound of my project - this is no commertial project and I'm not getting any prophets of it.

I know that this is may not be the site to ask for this, but I don't know where else to do it.

thanks a lot,

Wow had no idea he had done some of the music that you listed. Thanks for that info. The first time I noticed him was on the soundtrack for Crimson Tide. Every since then when I really like the music in a movie I look to see if it was him and I'm not surprised when I love the music and his name rolls up the screen.. Truly talented thanks for bringing this website about a gifted, gifted composer...

Thank you for choosing a career path that has brought so much joy, energy and emotion to so many people. In January, when days are short and life drags on, my players are always filled with various discs from POTC. Other scores return to their rightful places in Spring, Summer and Fall. Your music moves with the tides of my life. Thank you.

Hallo Mr.Zimmer...I do not know if you will ever read my mail, but i wanted to write it for you...I am i 18 Greek boy and i always admired your music-scores and in general all film scores...I have already finished my music studies with an A degree in piano studies, and i also compose my own orchestral scores. People in my country, teachers everywhere in greece say that i am really good, almost a genius...I never believed them. I mean i know I have some perfect fresh ideas and i know that i am composing for a huge orchestra even though noone tought me how(i studies only music harmony and chorus composition)...And if even i believed them, how can I in this country show my talent? Plenty of music sheets, My 'Rhapsody for a dream' for a huge orchestra, chorus and piano, my piano studies, soundtracks for films and whole new ideas which i do not write them, beacause like the others will end up on my desk waiting to be played for ages...And i speak to you Mr.Zimmer beacause i do not know to whom i may speak...Who can advise me what to do??...you are one of my music idols, talented, successfull, your dream is complete! When will my dream come true?! I know you are to busy to meddle with problems like my one...but you could help me. And remember how much i want to make this dream a reality but i can not alone...Thanks Mr.Zimmer if you read this...or any other reader...And if you could help in someway please contact me...my email address is www.vasilis_al@yahoo.gr...
......a mortal teenage boy from Athens,greece...thanks
