I saw the movie again and can confirm that most of the music is on this release. There are 3 unreleased cues I would like to hear... The scene where Jean and professor X arrive at the school, romantic cue which ends with the aliens landing on earth and finally end end credits cue.Then why on God's green earth are you posting it out of nowhere on the page for Michael Kamen's X-Men?This credits list absolutely reeks of bullshitI can come up with the booklet credits for Adventure Time: Awakening. Before a big battle, a character sings this song and a montage of the various characters plays as they prepare for battle. So that is the melody. The lyrics go like this:

High in the halls of the kings who are gone,
Jenny would dance with her ghosts;
The ones she had lost and the ones she had found
The ones who had loved her the most;
the ones who've been gone for so very long, she couldn't remember their names
they spun her around on the damp old stone
Spun away all her sorrow and pain.
And she never wanted to leave, never wanted to leave, never wanted to leave, never wanted to leave.

They danced through the day and into the night
Through the snow that swept through the hall
From winter to summer and winter again
Till the walls did crumble and fall
And she never wanted to leave, never wanted to leave, never wanted to leave, never wanted to leave.
Hybrid, please update this list. Is it possible that you could include the alternate/album version of Main On Ends (AKA Taking A Stand)?

Does anyone know where I can find a copy of a song called "Price"? I understand it was either composed or remixed by Ryland Allison while working with Hans Zimmer.
Any leads?

Saw new Steve Mcqueen film "Shame"at Venice Film Festival last week. The opening & closing music is very similar to The Thin Red Line score. Does anyone know if this is intentional? Is it a variation on the original theme? HZ is not credited...

@Antas, Nicolas and possibly Damien
The 5-star rating system: It kind of gives a much more vague/inaccurate idea of a score's real rating than the old 10/10 system since it apparently can't display half stars or fractions of stars.

Is this a capability you're planing to add to the 5-star system? If not, well, I like the 5-star idea, but the 10/10 system was really more useful...

Damien, Moderator2011-06-30 21:55:55
I think displaying half star (or even quarter but perhaps less readable) could be done, but you will not be able to rate it with such a detail (you will be able only to give whole star note).

Feliz2011-06-30 22:42:00
Right, I think that would be fine. You could still get a better idea of the aggregate fan rating, or if the HZimmer.com rating really is a 4.5 instead of a 4, etc.

Hallo!
Mich würde mal interessieren wie man als Deutscher auf so einen Soundtrack wie für Black Hawk Down kommt. Das ist schon extrem gut. Leave no man behind ist mein absoluter favourite. Immernoch.

Hello Mr. Zimmer, thank you so very much for your great, great soundtrack of 'pirates of the caribbean 4'! As soon ist was available at amazon I bought it and now it runs in 'infinite loop'.

But - alas - I do not understand the textes of the choir-parts, for example in 'mermaids' or 'on stranger tides'. My english ist not so good (as you can read ;-]). Is there a possibility to get the textes, can we read them anywhere in the internet?

Well, if there ist no chance - thank you despite for your great music! Sabrina

Sabrina2011-06-20 20:28:53
Wenn ich besser englisch könnte, würde ich wohl die Texte verstehen! (as soon it .. das war bloß ein Tippfehler)

Sabrina2011-06-20 20:53:37
Und texte - ja, ok, the lyrics.

smith2011-06-20 22:07:52
hehe kein ding, wollte dich doch nur ägern :)
und zu den texten glaube ich kaum, dass das wirklich irgendwelche worte sind die man versteht, sondern irgendwelche fiktionslyrics sind, wie in gladiator von lisa gerrard.

u guys need to update JNW's page cause there's a new album out composed by him (The Green Lantern) :)

kaka2011-06-16 04:12:41
I hate to break this out but....

The Green Lantern OSt really sucks....Its like He's trying too hard to be like Zimmer. Which is exactly what Doyle did with Thor...Tried too hard. but Doyle's score was way more coherent than this one...

Hans and team just want to thank you for such a great website.

Hans, Thank you so much for being such a huge inspiration to me. You are the reason i began composing music.

No one knows how to get the best out of a movie with music like you do.
I'm constantly amazed how your draw such emotion from every scene. Even a simple scene can have such a huge effect just because of the way you score it.

I've watched every movie you have worked on, from 'success is the best revenge', 'the zero boys' (you even made that good to watch) to 'prince of Egypt', 'Gladiator', 'last samurai' and everything else you have done.

I look forward more to your movies coming out than i do my own Birthday.

Thanks again
Mark Stothard.

Hans

Meine Duetsch is seer shlect, so in English.

As a life long enthusiast of sea chanties and old songs on nautical themes, I must say I am stunned by the beauty of "Jolly Sailor Bold" from the Pirates of the Caribbean soundtrack. When I saw the movie, I though to myself 'How have I missed this song among all the traditional songs of the sea I have heard?' I assumed it was of folk song a couple of centuries old. I was so surprised to find out it is a modern composition! I was further surprised to find out the composer isn't even a native speaker of English.

You crafted a work of art that sounds straight out of some waterfront of the early 19th century. Your choice of archaic turns of phrase, the slightly awkward fit of some of the words to the meter of the tune, and the imperfect transitions in a couple of verses give it the feel of a song that existed in several slightly different versions that periodically got recombined by different singers and passed on orally to new performers over many years.

I am curious to know how you came to be so familiar with traditional English songs of sailors and the sea. I am equally curious why the song is not included in the soundtrack CD from Pirates. I, for one, would buy it instantly if available. And given the number of places on the net that I found with people asking where to get the lyrics, recording of the song, and such, I think someone made a big mistake leaving it off the CD.

To give some sense of the level of interest, I found on YouTube about a dozen different videos of people who had found the lyrics and recorded the song themselves, a cappella, accompanied by classical harp, piano, you name it. The movie has been open less than a week. Clearly your work has touched a chord among music lovers. It is one form of popularity to find many pirated copies of a recorded song on the net - it is something very different to find so many individuals recording themselves singing it in so short a time.

This song is nothing short of a work of genius. Thank you for creating it.
