He said in a recent interview that the score exists “full tracks”. Who knows how much of it was ready considering he probably left the project before the cut was finalized - so probably nothing was recorded. But knowing how Tom likes to do things and judging by his studio time videos, he can do amazing things with samples. And if it contains lots of sound design then it wouldn’t be far from the final product.I wish !<br><br>I have zero info, just following what's happening on social networks like everybody else...<br><br>If you asked me last week about it, I'd have told you "Sure, it will happen... in 20 years maybe, but it will happen..."<br><br>Now it seems it might be sooner than that... :)@Hybrid, do you think the SnyderCut will release soon?<br>I won't go further cause it's not exactly the place, but I won't say you're wrong either... :PHybrid, any insight into why Tyler was fired from Age of Ultron? I’ve always wondered but have never seen an actual reason. I’ve heard he violated his contract to work on Furious 7 or something?<br><br>Just was curious because he still takes full credit for that score, and the more I see of him the more annoyed I get with his arrogant attitude. The dude thinks he’s the greatest thing to ever happen to film scores.
Me too. The deluxe edition was quite underwhelming. Would love to get the entire Sicily sequence.Really gutted that the FYC is out but it's missing the one moment from the score I really wanted, the statement of the Alpha theme from HTTYD2. Wonder why Powell and his crew seem to be going out of their way to prevent that from being heard...something about pre-existing material, maybe? But why just that theme and not the dozens of others? Weird.If you ask me, that "personal tragedy" for Snyder, though real, was just an excuse for them to fire him. It was convenient for Warner. They saw his film and they probably got scared it was impossible to sell, too long, too much BvS, too much this, too much that... This irony is now they made a billion with the darkest DC movie ever... Nice call WB... The minute Whedon & Elfman were "in", you understood this film was not Zack Snyder's anymore. This film is so terrible, I rewatched it lately, you can feel pretty much 80% of it is Whedon reshoots (just look for actors that look nothing like themselves when they shot the initial film, "New Haircut" Amy Adams, "Bottox" Batfleck, "Mustache" Cavill... And you can see from miles away how they all act like they don't care, that they hated every minute of reshooting it. I'm really sad Geoff Zanelli had to participate into this travesty, but I hope he got a huge paycheck for the pain ! lol Especially since Geoff was at the very beginning of the DCEU since he started working on ideas with Hans on Man Of Steel, before he left early to handle The Lone Ranger...<br><br>#ReleaseTheSnyderCut<br><br>Oh and btw Brian Tyler was fired from Avengers 2. And not because of the music he was writing. Whedon brought Elfman at the last minute, first he was "additional music", then "co-composer", if he had, say, one more month, he would have replaced the entirety of Tyler's score... He just didn't get enough time to do that...I definitely agree with your last sentence. I really like seeing the RCP composers going back to orchestral splendor and melody. Shame Jablonsky's been MIA because of his family. I would have loved to see him come back with the orchestral, melodic voice that Balfe and Tom have had lately.cool!
Whedon has his particular tastes which are guaranteed to be more sensible than 'Anonymous' below. This was a case where Snyder was facing an uphill struggle and a personal tragedy. He left the project. Josh came on board and he does not think highly of the RCP school, as anyone with a sensible ear will do. So he hired Elfman who did Age of Ultron for him after Tyler copy-pasted himself too much. It's ironic that fanboys here lambast Elfman for not being Zimmer enough in scope while Tyler does whatever he does, sounding EXACTLY the same on all projects. <br><br>But it's also heartening to see that all of the good RCP composers like Jackman, Junk, Balfe are now going for scores that sound a lot like 1990s or 2000s - Silvestri (Jumanji), Jones (Alita), or Shore (Dark Materials), respectively.Did Holkenborg finish his score and have time to record it? Is there an actual score? It seems to me he got jettisoned early in the process when Whedon came on board. It would be surprising if he had time to record an actual score with players and an orchestra.I can't decide whether or not some of the things I want to hear from him should be in his new show or a new World of Hans Zimmer show.@Ds Omar is saying that this was the direction Tom went with / what the score sounded like not that he was fired because he didn’t deliver the sound he’s known for :) <br>Of course he was replaced after Snyder left the project. <br><br>And yeah citation is needed.Desperately hoping we'll hear something from Dune. He's said himself how excited he is to finally work on music for a Dune movie and turned down Nolan for it, and it will be out a few months before these shows begin.
The FYC came out for this. Unfortunately, it's missing two entire tracks from the film. An extended "Busy, Busy Berk", and the film version of "Furies Captured" (which at least had a YouTube upload of the alternate version). <br><br>Guess we'll have to hope for a complete/recording sessions leak for everything else.Will he come to Sthlm / Gothenburg sweden???https://www. axs.com/why-we-need-a-chicago-med-soundtrack-album-in-our-li ves-112620<br><br>Why they never release this?!....Omar: Well tried, but Junkie XL was replaced after Snyder was fired and Whedon came in.<br>And just in case Snyder actually wanted another sound, he would just have told Junkie at the beginning instead of firing him after he departed himself :-pCitation needed

Hello,
I want to have your creation at her wedding. I should be grateful if you were present. It's a beautiful location in the Czech Republic

Lieber Hans Zimmer,
Sebastian S.

I am in the process of creating a short film for contest and would like very much to use the Hans Zimmer song, "The Red Warrior' in the background. I would be very grateful to have permission to use the song.
Thank you,

I am in the process of creating a video on Atom Interferometry which involves Quantum Mechanics and I very much would love to use Hans Zimmer song as a background. Would you please be so kind to tell me what is the name of Hans Zimmer publisher so I may get permission for one of his songs?. "Waking Up" from the movie "Oblivion" is the one I want to use. Please advice.
Very appreciatively,
Arthur Hernandez

Yeah, Oblivion isn't by Zimmer...although given how similar that cue is to "Time", maybe you really are asking in the right place after all!

Anonymous2015-02-02 02:28:31
Edmund, I think you need your ears checked if you think "Waking Up" sounds even remotely similar to "Time"

Edmund Meinerts2015-02-02 09:59:29
Derpty derpty doo, I was mixing it up in my head with "Fearful Odds". FAYUL.

Fine. It sounds like "A Dark Knight" then. Same idea. :b

Is there any way to listen to some of the unreleased music? I'm a big fan of Zimmer music, and I own a couple of his movie scores, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End included, but when I look at the extended cut I'm disappointed. There are some beautiful pieces of music from the film that do not appear at all in the score, especially the malestrom scene, my favorite part being the end at Will's death. Why is that? I don't mind paying a little more for excellent music, I just wish it were available in good quality and by legitimate means!

I loved, absolutely loved the soundtrack to Inception. Now Interstellar moves me in a way that is just amazing. I used to be a bit of a snob when it came to film music although as a 12 year old I kind of started collecting music soundtracks. But the music of Hans Zimmer is just brilliant. They work wonderfully when watching an amazing movie (The Nolan/Zimmerman combo is magic) and these soundtracks stand by themselves.

Just wanted to comment about the work you and team did for the Interstellar soundtrack. It was quite simply the most moving soundtrack I have ever heard in a film. I can't get enough of it. It is so incredibly beautiful, whenever I hear it, I swell with an intimacy and human presence towards something so grandiose. It is just electrifying. I swear this is stimulating a different part of my brain then any music before it.

Congratulations on a job well done.

sorry -
my englisch is too bad for what i want to say.

Lieber Hans

wie schlimm für die, die sich lieben;
und nur durch die Liebe kann es lösen.
Dieses wunderschöne Motiv trägt alles in sich.
Und der Rest ist einfach nur noch konsequent.
Das ist total geil gemacht: ich bin sehr berührt!
Danke und Grüße, Guido

I was a bit fast with my german comment and I thought about it – and now I try in Enlgish :-)
Interstellar has got an incredible Soundtrack!
In my opinion it is so often the very small thing, that shows us a real miracle.
This is so well and beautiful done in this movie - Thank you Hans!

May I say that your German comment was worded quite beautifully. At least until "total geil", although I still agree with that as well ;)

Pent up for so many years. Do not hope that this text will read Hans. But still I will write...a lot of music has pereslushal for his life. You can write a lot, how and what....but....I will give my opinion. When I listen to the music from the movie Gladiator...it's incredible! It's been 14 years, after I saw the movie and heard the music. And the truth is...when I was ill, music for film Gladiator...give me strength! Not very good for me with English...sorry...But...With a childhood dream to write music for films...without fanaticism...just really...a Lot of movies looked...and realized that the "pictures" that's not the point...don't believe?!))) turn off the sound and watch the movie!))) agree! the movie can "see" with your eyes closed...if you hear it!!!))) Ah...the Music for the film Gladiator....great work!!! Well, that life...allow...sad...not all...and it is unreal)( 1995 learn and I will learn....music...probably bad I'm a student...time still nobody. And all my dreams and music...stay with me...in a remote Russian province...I shall sit with swollen ears headphones))) and write music...Sorry friends...clumsy wrote...just not to convey...) only music......And the parents were told to study to be a doctor or engineer)))))) When he studied at the College of music...wrote the piece for two violins and cello))) it was very interesting! Ah...tomorrow night and day...and after all repeats.......but with us the music!!! And we are not alone! Never swear! Respect others! P. S. First time in my life spoke) With bad English of course)) Sorry) Wanted to know how Hans wrote music for orchestra.......or all in the Studio...how sad...wish with all my soul to see the world and to be heard in the music...but no one will hear...Dear Hans! I think You are a great composer! This is not flattery, it is my opinion! The melody for the movie Gladiator!!! Thank You, mr.Hans! Let my chord get lost among the millions...You are the best!

I was wondering if Hans Zimmer took any inspiration from Ysaye's Sonata Number 2. The theme is very similar to Interstellar's "Day One Dark."

Hello to LA from Germany! I LOVE Hans Zimmers music-my favorite is Inception which I listen to on all my long car rides to all the different theaters I work-just incredibly awsome! I got tickets for a concert in Berlin April 2015 with his music. Will Mr. Zimmer be there as well?
I wish I could meet and greet!
Best, Stephan

Watched Interstellar two days ago. What really stays with me is the awesome soundtrack, I mean, holy shit it was good. The soundtrack is spellbinding in the way Tchaikovski's music is. The Interstellar soundtrack will S.T.A.Y. with me for a long long time. Thank you Hans.

Your score for "Interstellar" is truly your finest work. I am a sound designer/composer myself, and a former professor of sound design. When I taught, I used movie scores to help the student understand good design (in context with the moment shown on screen).

"Interstellar" goes beyond 'good' - it is profound with its expressions of joy, hope, anguish, faith, anger, fear and other emotions too numerous to mention, invoking a sense of majesty. Thank you.

Fred reply Replies: 0 || 2014-11-20 21:18:49
The Interstellar score hit me in a way no other film music has in a long time. Thank you for that, and please find some way to put it out on vinyl. Something about it makes me think that's the perfect way to capture all the density in the songs. The organs would really come to life.

Edward Andrade reply Replies: 0 || 2014-11-19 13:24:45
I would like to thank Hans Zimmer for a wonderful soundtrack. I was blown away with the Lion King and the Thin Red Line Soundtrack. In my opinion out of all the collaborations with Chris Nolan the Interstellar Soundtrack is the best. The countdown sequence. The organ use during a piece I can´t remember. I would also like to thank everyone for sharing information about the cd. I hope they come out with a more complete version.
