Huh. An trite electronic beat in the first half, with a segment from Science and Religion in the second half? I assume the rest of the score will rise above those constraints...ggctuk has also commented on TASM 2. And yes, as Edmund said, you make good posts! Please don't feel chased out. :P

I do wonder what Zimmer would do with the project if he were asked and said yes. He already scored to Batmans, so I doubt he'd feel that objection to it. But if Debney scored it, we're almost guaranteed that references to the original will be made throughout.I guess if Disney can bring Alan Menken back for the live action version of Beauty and the Beast, they could certainly bring Hans back for The Lion KingDid anyone ever actually reject the idea that more than one person can work on a cue?Hey, man, no need to get so touchy. I for one appreciate your posts (and I don't really see anyone saying otherwise). But you have to admit it is kind of funny how you only ever seem to comment on a few things (and yeah, Lion King about 80% of the time - in fact, the only other score I can recall you ever commenting on is Terminator Genisys).

Debney seems likely for this, since Jungle Book was very well-received (both film and score) and the Favreau connection. But you know who would be a fantastic choice? MARK MANCINA! Disney experience, check. Got the chops for it, check. Worked on the friggin' original and would know exactly where and when to use elements from it in the remake, check. You can't go wrong!
Silence and Religion <3This might come as a shock to you, but Hans Zimmer is not exactly my favourite composer and I have not watched many movies with his work in it (in truth, only two or three where I enjoyed the music). As far as scores go, The Lion King is on my top 10, but not in my top 5. My all-time favourite composer is John Williams. Michael Giacchino and Jery Goldsmith are next on my list, followed by James Horner, Alan Silvestri, Danny Elfman... Zimmer's quite low on the list.

As far as scores go, my favourite all-time scores are Star Wars by John Williams and Star Trek by Goldsmith and Giacchino. But as they're not RCP composers, there's no place to talk about their works on this site. I could write tons more on those scores than I ever could write on anything Zimmer related, and that includes this score.

Since obviously anything I write is considered a NUISANCE to you fine, upstanding folks, I think I shall just not bother with this site any more. Because how dare I participate in any discussions on the few Zimmer scores I actually like, right?

Good day, sir.Titanic is a love story in a setting of a tragic event. i havent seen Deepwater Horizon yet, but im 99% sure that there is no love story on that oil platform. Schindler's List is a bit too sentimental for my taste. btw: comparing 2 movies with the setting in 1912 and WW II with a movie and its setting in 2010 is absolutely sensless. And are you forced to jump on everything TLK related, even on something Hans will probably not score ? :PYou guys really need to make a proper forum so we can edit our own posts instead of bumping.

I stand corrected on the Debney thing: he's kind of Favreau's go-to guy (he scored 4 of Favreau's 8 films). Still doesn't make it ironclad that Debney will be the composer.
Why does it seem that everybody expects Debney to do it if Zimmer doesn't? I know he did well with The Jungle Book, but consider this: Debney has ONLY done The Jungle Book in this line of movies. The reason they went for Debney is most likely to do with the fact they couldn't get hold of the original composer. Which, seeing as that was George Bruns, is on account of the fact that he died 33 years ago. James Newton Howard did Maleficent and Cinderella was done by Patrick Doyle.

Given they got Alan Menken to do Beauty And The Beast (and is likely to be asked when they get around to The Little Mermaid and Aladdin), I would imagine they WILL be approaching Hans Zimmer, Mark Mancina, Lebo M and the whole team to do a new version.

Failing that, Michael Giacchino is Disney's current composer golden-boy at the moment, so he's a possibility too. There's a whole load of composers who could do it that I'm too lazy to list given I've actually listed several already.Above on this very page... :PCan we listen to this cue "7m44c Final Battle Pt 3" somewhere?Yeah it's interesting, I will try to add more notes from the various collaborators or Hans on his scores. Did the same with Last Samurai...Hans has to be the person who gets to decline the gig if he wants to. His arrangement of the Circle of Life with Lebo M was the hook that got you into the movie.
If not Zimmer than it'll probably be John Debney who'll score this one.@MrZimmerFan and rockhound

So what you are saying is that Horner scored Titanic in wrong way? And Williams also got it wrong with Schindler's List?Would be very interesting if Hans Zimmer scored this. He's said numerous times that the score for the animated film could have been far better had he had more time to work on it. This could be the opportunity for him to put those final touches upon this gem of a score. Hey, I for one will welcome it even if turns out to be a note-by-note re-recording of the original, too - as long as the essences of the original is maintained, of courseYou can bet if they DON'T go for Zimmer, they might go for somebody like Michael Giacchino, especially given how much he's already done for Disney so far (quite a few Pixar scores under his belt, his Zootopia score, which is great, BTW. I'd definitely buy an expanded version, plus Doctor Strange and Rogue One to name a few he's done for Disney). Either way, they'll most likely be reprising all of Zimmer's themes.

Certainly an interesting development that pretty much everybody called after the success of The Jungle Book.

And BTW, the film is going to be all-CG, so it definitely won't be 'live action'.So we have a detailed discussion of how a cue on a HZ score comes together. Will people finally accept the idea that two composers can work on the same cue.

Maybe then we can work on getting people to understand that a credited additional arranger isn't a "ghostwriter".

Watched Interstellar two days ago. What really stays with me is the awesome soundtrack, I mean, holy shit it was good. The soundtrack is spellbinding in the way Tchaikovski's music is. The Interstellar soundtrack will S.T.A.Y. with me for a long long time. Thank you Hans.

It's nice to see you finally released the "spinning Endurance docking" cue, but so far it seems it's exclusive to iTunes, and not on Amazon or Google Play. Will it remain an exclusive or will it be released on them too?

Your score for "Interstellar" is truly your finest work. I am a sound designer/composer myself, and a former professor of sound design. When I taught, I used movie scores to help the student understand good design (in context with the moment shown on screen).

"Interstellar" goes beyond 'good' - it is profound with its expressions of joy, hope, anguish, faith, anger, fear and other emotions too numerous to mention, invoking a sense of majesty. Thank you.

The Interstellar score hit me in a way no other film music has in a long time. Thank you for that, and please find some way to put it out on vinyl. Something about it makes me think that's the perfect way to capture all the density in the songs. The organs would really come to life.

Edward Andrade reply Replies: 0 || 2014-11-19 13:24:45
I would like to thank Hans Zimmer for a wonderful soundtrack. I was blown away with the Lion King and the Thin Red Line Soundtrack. In my opinion out of all the collaborations with Chris Nolan the Interstellar Soundtrack is the best. The countdown sequence. The organ use during a piece I can´t remember. I would also like to thank everyone for sharing information about the cd. I hope they come out with a more complete version.

It is such a shame that the soundtracks of the climax is not included in the CD. I noticed after I already purchased it. If I want the complete album, I have to purchase again? Such lame marketing is not clever at all.

anupsetfan reply Replies: 1 || 2014-11-18 02:34:29
Purchased and downloaded your latest Interstellar soundtrack. What a disappointment that the obviously most popular score "Day One Dark" is absent from the album. I read that it will be released as a bonus track later.

What a obvious grab for cash and a great way of treating your fans like d**k heads!

I will, from now on, illegally download all your material.

FYI, "Day One Dark" is downloadable for free already Muhahaha!

Interstellar:

Hi! I was just wondering if it is possible to purchase an original, printed film score Hans Zimmer composed (specifically the score for Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End). Could anybody point me in the right direction? Thanks.

Hey, I've been trying to get the music from the Nokia trailer for The Dark Knight Rises. Is there a place I can buy the actual song? I found audio on YouTube that was cleaned up from the trailer... But a good bit-rate version of it will be great. If it hasn't been released yet, are there any plans on releasing it? Based on my experience while searching the internet, there are quite a lot of people who'd love it! Thanks!

I once again heard some of Mr. Zimmer's work and once again I just felt the need to hug that man I've never met and thank him for making my small slice of the world such a better place for a while.

Nothing makes much sense, but the beauty of music like his is such a pure and simple pleasure I fell it has to be point of Everything.

As a long-time fan, I just wanted to thank Hans and his whole team for the experience last Saturday at the Hammersmith Apollo in London. It was a real thrill for me to see the enthusiasm and joy with which your orchestra played, and to hear some of my favourite tracks live. And I think it paid off - not only have I queued up a number of additional soundtracks to buy from you, but my wife seems to have become almost as much a fan as I.

I'm really looking forward to the release of the event on DVD/Blu-Ray/CD, if that's the plan - I certainly hope it is! In the meantime, thanks again, and keep doing what you're doing.

Guten Tag! I'd like to use one of your pieces from the second Pirates of the Caribbean, "The Kraken." With your permission of course, I plan to use the song for a stop-motion/animation short film myself and others are producing. It would be an honor to use a masterpiece of yours in the film. Could you give me the contract info on how to use it, or where I could find the copyright infringement policies. I really appreciate it!! Thank you!! Ethan

Hello mr. Zimmer. I have a little question.
Your composition, named "Hello Beastie" from Pirates of the Carribean 2 soundtrack is just fascinating. I bought all Pirates of the Carribean Dead Man's Chest score to get this awesome piece of music.
So, the point is: can i use this composition in video, witch goes to the Valve's Saxxy contest? Is it legal according to the copyright laws? This should be a dramma short. No forbidden scenes will be in this video. This is the link to the site of this contest:(sourcefilmmaker.com/saxxyawards2014/guidelines/)As you can see, there is absolutely no any commercial profit from your misic for me or anybody. Whall contest and program, that i use to create the short (Source Filmmaker) are completely free. Shure there will be reference in titers that this exelent piece of music is completely your creation and i'm just using it to create the mood.
If the answer is negative and i can not use your masterpiece, then i shure will not. But the is mention in contest rules that i need creator permission to use the score.
Sorry for my bad english and thank you for your attention.

Mike, do you think a white swan would be better suited for him? (just kidding)The swan has nothing to do with mr. Zimmer.
