"With Sound/FX" has always meant "fanmade" and "poor quality" score versions.
It means some guy has ripped his DVD, removing the dialogues and trying to go back and forth between front and rear channels to delete as much possible background noises : you have instruments missings, volume changes, mixing issues, big noises everywhere, artefacts of dialogues...
Definitely not worth the listen... Even for my favorite scores, I refuse to listen to a completely butchered version !

Are there still people seeking for SFX versions ? Please, stay true to your regular releases (or promo tracks if there are) and wait for a true recording session to come out ! This is simply amazing. Just Amazing. I have one of the CD-s from the Lion King, but I also would really love to have this full soundtrack version.I hope they place it on sale :) This was one of the best sountrack Ive ever heard. Hans Zimmer - you are god of music :) Oh, I see! Sorry I didn't notice, but I should have though about that when I read the "fx" part. Sorry again XD

Thanks anyway! :) This is a bootleg release, so you can't get it officially.
It also uses a lot the Angels & Demons choirs... :P

I like Margeson's rendition of We Wish You A Merry Christmas ! :P Exccellent score, it gives the game just that extra spark that makes it such a great game, hope to hear more of hans' musical skills in upcoming games

greets,

Jos de Jager I saw Inception yesterday and was absolutely mind-blown, not just by its apparent complexity but also by the beautiful and intense soundtrack that accompanied every scene. Each track captured the essence of each scene extremely well, and I applaud Hans Zimmer for yet another commendable soundtrack. :) HAHA WOW Panties are women's underwear, not another term for pants. Basically I was telling you to relax but clearly you're too much of an idiot to understand that. I also wouldn't like to meet you on the street either. Awesome!!!!!! I love it!!! i love this soundtrack! its absolutely beautiful and adds a whole other dimension to the movie, i was amazed. for my hsc music musicology project i wanted to analyse a few of the pieces, i was wondering if anyone could tell me what some of the more abstract timbres were and which synths were used because some are hard to distinguish, i could've sworn there's the sound of a spinning top in "waiting for a train"
Anyone knows where to find this one? Haha! This stuff is really great! Carols in a more mature version of his SOCOM style. It's epic in a very serious sense, but at the same time it's so over the top it makes me laugh. I love it. I just wish the synth orchestra was a little less synthy. It's pretty good quality, but when the orchestrations thin out it distracts me a little from the quality of the compositions. I just saw this on the Position music site yesterday and now it's posted here. Crazy. So the plans to make this a commercial release didn't work out? I Like Making Covers To Albums... They're Soo Much Fun!!!! Even This One Wasn't That Bad. Did you see the two other SOCOM Albums which also contains music by them?:) don't wear any pants? wouldn't like to meet you on the street . . .

    2010/01/13 - Enrico

Yes, because is original, but I can't prove this...I like however, because the sound quality is high with Dolby Sorround 2.1 too!!! Bye!!!

    2010/01/13 - jerrymui

enrico, the album you downloaded has 5.1 surround sound?

    2010/01/13 - Enrico

I can't help you...I've the CD too bu tI have a Digital Dolby 2.1, so I don't know...

    2010/01/13 - jerrymui

i bought the CD and placed the CD in my computer. Then downloaded the 5.1 surroud sound of this Album and followed the instructions to burn an Audio CD.but when I played it with my home thearter system,it was still stereo 2.0,not 5.1 surroud. My home theater definitely supports 5.1 surroud sound.

    2010/01/10 - OKKU

    Please more work.

    2010/01/10 - Enrico

So, Lorne Balfe has been very very important in this soundtrack! I didn't know this...It's strange that they have written it on the principal cover!!! :D I thought that he needs to sponsor Lorne...

However, Hans is right, we are boring with these bad news about Remote Control team...Oscar should see what they nominated, every year I see very few good music in Oscar nominations...bad thing... :(

    2010/01/10 - Adrian

    Enrico:
    1. Yes he did, I read it on imdb somewhere. It was because of all the problems he had with the Dark Knight nomination/disqualification for ''too many composers.'' He was tired of all the interviews, stress and stuff around it. So he said enough is enough. If I remember correct,

    2. Well, I'm not sure what a producer does, but I think: the composer composes a song and has a global idea how the music must be played and put together. But the producer makes layers, all music has several layers, like one for drums, one for guitar, one for violin, one for cello etc. And I think the producer makes decisions about those layers, where they are, and how much instruments (layers) are used, how loud they must sound.
But I'm not sure to be honest, I only know for sure that the producer is an essential part of the team.

    2010/01/10 - Michael Docherty

Great soundtrack! I love track 11 Psychological Recovery,Lots going on,I think I can hear some uilleann pipes about 4 min in? Fantastic!

    2010/01/10 - Enrico

Yes right...Adrian you are right about everything...
Two question: why Hans has say that he doesn't want an Oscar? And where did you read this?
Then: do you know what do they mean with "Music Produced by Hans Zimer & Lorne Balfe"? I understnad that Hans is the composer, but...who are the producers? What do they do? I don't understnad this...Could someone help me please?

    2010/01/10 - Adrian

Those two are indeed very impressive, but im not a fan of tracks longer than 7 minutes :P So Psychological Recovery isn't a track for me... hehe
But Hans Zimmer did indeed again make an impressive score, via very ''original'' ways :P
I haven't got the chance to listen tot he bonus track just yet, but I'll hear it soon!

Hans indeed deserves an oscar for this... And as for Avatar, it was good... but a bit ''standard.''
Sherlock is far from standard, perhaps the oscar committee will see that... But Hans said he doesn't want any oscars anymore, so most likely he won't get one hehe

Track 3 is a very strange track... totally strange, thats why I liked it :-) I asked myself the same question ''what is he doing? but i like it :P''

    2010/01/09 - matthew

hey guys! Who made that weird sound? Zimmer or Jablonsky? You know what I'm talking about. yust listen Discombobulate then The Shard. this sound belongs to Trans 2. for me...

    2010/01/09 - Enrico

Well Adrian...my favorite track is the long suite of 18 minutes: "Psychological Recovery...6 Months" and then, the last: "Catatonic"!

I think that is the best...is fantatic because we can hear every single theme from Sherlock Holmes and is that where we can hear every soloist at their top!!! Hans Zimmer with synth (expecially in the end), Diego Stocco & Co.

Fantastic track, but honestly I love all this CD...is fantastic, Zimmer has changed his style here...I think that sometimes he seems more "cinematic" with suspended sound...FANTASTIC AMAZING!!!

The 3° track is fantastic too, even if the first time I heard it I said: "what has done hans now?!!!" But I loved step by step...The last track (the bonus track) is fantastic too...

I want to say this: this year the Oscar will go to Avatar, that is a fantastic score, but HONESTLY Hans Zimmer merits it...Sherlock Holmes has different themes and never get boring...This is one of the best CD of Hans Zimmer!!! Go on...

What do you think about these words Adrian?

    2010/01/09 - kakashi

    hey mods,

why wasnt martin Tillman involved in the project, i thought he was hanses go to cello guy?

    2010/01/08 - Adrian

Yes... I had the same with the Prisoner... ordered somewhere at the beginning of dec, but received it at the 31st of dec :P

No.. I haven't just yet... The previews were quite... ''special'' so I waited and let it sink for a while hehe..
But I think I'll be buying it soon... I particularity like the 3rd track, especially when the beat comes... what do you think about that track ? And which is your favorite track ?

    2010/01/08 - Enrico

Have you bought the original CD too?

    2010/01/08 - Enrico

Yes cool...I've received it on 5th January, but it was sent on 26th December...

    2010/01/07 - Adrian

Cool... but who works that day? In my country it is called 2nd day of X-Mas... hehe

    2010/01/07 - Enrico

I bought it by Play.com and they sent me the CD on Boxing Day...

    2010/01/07 - Adrian

    @ Enrico

Nice link about the musicians... and the destruction of a piano :P

I don't know if the upper picture is a special edition... Regarding the size of the of the left side (where you can see the logo), I think its for the normal edition, only with a cardboard cover over the plastic one.

But it could also be the special edition, and be a complete cardboard cover.

We just have to wait one more week :-) How did you get the CD already by the way? The 12th January isn't until next week!

    2010/01/07 - Enrico

However on my CD I just see the sybol of SONY, and nothing else about the production.
