"With Sound/FX" has always meant "fanmade" and "poor quality" score versions.
It means some guy has ripped his DVD, removing the dialogues and trying to go back and forth between front and rear channels to delete as much possible background noises : you have instruments missings, volume changes, mixing issues, big noises everywhere, artefacts of dialogues...
Definitely not worth the listen... Even for my favorite scores, I refuse to listen to a completely butchered version !

Are there still people seeking for SFX versions ? Please, stay true to your regular releases (or promo tracks if there are) and wait for a true recording session to come out ! This is simply amazing. Just Amazing. I have one of the CD-s from the Lion King, but I also would really love to have this full soundtrack version.I hope they place it on sale :) This was one of the best sountrack Ive ever heard. Hans Zimmer - you are god of music :) Oh, I see! Sorry I didn't notice, but I should have though about that when I read the "fx" part. Sorry again XD

Thanks anyway! :) This is a bootleg release, so you can't get it officially.
It also uses a lot the Angels & Demons choirs... :P

I like Margeson's rendition of We Wish You A Merry Christmas ! :P Exccellent score, it gives the game just that extra spark that makes it such a great game, hope to hear more of hans' musical skills in upcoming games

greets,

Jos de Jager I saw Inception yesterday and was absolutely mind-blown, not just by its apparent complexity but also by the beautiful and intense soundtrack that accompanied every scene. Each track captured the essence of each scene extremely well, and I applaud Hans Zimmer for yet another commendable soundtrack. :) HAHA WOW Panties are women's underwear, not another term for pants. Basically I was telling you to relax but clearly you're too much of an idiot to understand that. I also wouldn't like to meet you on the street either. Awesome!!!!!! I love it!!! i love this soundtrack! its absolutely beautiful and adds a whole other dimension to the movie, i was amazed. for my hsc music musicology project i wanted to analyse a few of the pieces, i was wondering if anyone could tell me what some of the more abstract timbres were and which synths were used because some are hard to distinguish, i could've sworn there's the sound of a spinning top in "waiting for a train"
Anyone knows where to find this one? Haha! This stuff is really great! Carols in a more mature version of his SOCOM style. It's epic in a very serious sense, but at the same time it's so over the top it makes me laugh. I love it. I just wish the synth orchestra was a little less synthy. It's pretty good quality, but when the orchestrations thin out it distracts me a little from the quality of the compositions. I just saw this on the Position music site yesterday and now it's posted here. Crazy. So the plans to make this a commercial release didn't work out? I Like Making Covers To Albums... They're Soo Much Fun!!!! Even This One Wasn't That Bad. Did you see the two other SOCOM Albums which also contains music by them?:) don't wear any pants? wouldn't like to meet you on the street . . .

    2009/12/14 - Peter

That sample sounds much more original and complex than I had expected. And there is definitely a "The Third Man" meets "C'era una volta il west" thing going on :)

    2009/12/12

I hope it's a real 5.1 download unlike the last one, the Harry Potter one, which was a complete lie.

    2009/12/12 - Ele

No reason to put Avatar off for those samples :D

    2009/12/11 - Sylvos

According to the official website of the film, those who buy ticket(s) for the film in advance will get a free exclusive track on iTunes, titled "Holmes (Hans 'n Guy Version)". By the looks of it, this is got to be a remixed thing, but maybe not.

    2009/12/10 - Enrico

Yes right...we are looking for this CD!!! I'd like to see it under my Christmas tree...but I must wait until 12 January...Uffa...
However: does anyone any news about the packadge of the CD?

2009/12/10 - My name? Who wants to know?

sounds a bit like harry gregson williams in places (marital sabotage especially) in terms of rhythm. Other tracks sound very zimmerish. Ah, Putrefaction sounds beautiful even though it's very short. The theme sounds great in Panic. The last two tracks sound extremely epic!! Really can't wait for this release, it seems years since Angels and Demons!

    2009/12/10 - fabien

nice tracklisting. can't wait for a first listen !!!

    2009/12/10 - Ravi Krishna

Enrico - search "Sherlock Holmes" under "Mp3 albums" at amazon.com

    2009/12/10 - Enrico

Excuse me which Amazon has the tracks semplers?
And then: will the CD be released without a plastic cover?

    2009/12/10

2 songs I'm the most interested is song 11 (an 18 minutes long action epic according to amazon) and the last track. Those tracks sound like a typical Zimmer action fest :)

    2009/12/10

    Simply the best composer ever.

    2009/12/10 - Ravi Krishna

    Thanks, Miles. :)

    2009/12/10 - Miles

Amazon mp3 has samples of all the tracks for anyone who cares to listen; pretty interesting overall, although I think "I Never Woke Up In Handcuffs Before" is a little heavy on the strings. The last two tracks are perhaps the closest to "vintage" Zimmer.

    2009/12/09 - joshua

why the push back on the actual cd?!!! January 12!!!!!

    2009/12/08 - Jaweco

    A sample is right there : http://soundtrackfans.ning.com/video/video/show?id=2350108%3 AVideo%3A18039

A little Sparrow-ish, Hans brings back the harpsichord along with the accordion. Weird but fun ! It also reminds me a little of Morricone's "Marcia Degli Accattoni" from A Fistful of Dynamite (Giu la Testa) (we all know how much Hans loves his music ! ^^).

    2009/12/07 - Miles

    You're welcome.

    2009/12/07 - Tom

    Hey.
looks like some of you already got to listen to it, any idea where i can find some samples?

    2009/12/07 - Adrian

There's a lot of Pirates and a bit BHD in it too... haha All Zimmer!
Thanks for the tip Miles :-)

    2009/12/07 - Miles

Incontention now has the whole track of "Discombobulate" posted up. It's a very catchy and quirky main theme, about as far from "Big Zimmer Action" as anything HZ has done this year. There'll probably be a liberal sprinkling of that in there, too, though. Now I'm even more excited to hear the whole thing!

    2009/12/06

    OMG i can't wait.
