Exclusif
(Divx

For people who speak english,
this is the translation of the speech :
(Fade in)
Images of Black Hawk Down, Impossible
Mission 2 and Gladiator are shown on screen.
Off - These movies woudn't have
been what they are without one important element,
the power given by the music.
This has been done by one of most
prolific composer of Hollywood, Hans Zimmer.
Hans Zimmer - During the first scene
of Gladiator, with the titles, the first thing you
think about is an action movie with full of violent
scenes. But the first thing you see is that hand
on the wheat. It woudn't have been possible without
musical support. In cinema, music is the room for
poetry.
Off - 7 times nominated at the Oscars
for his musical scores of Rain Man, Prince of Egypt,
Hannibal (Wrong), or The Lion King (Personal note
- they could have told to everyone he won an oscar
for that one), Hans Zimmer can now impose his way
of composing to the most famous directors.
Hans Zimmer - I don't read scripts,
I rather speak and have a lunch with the director
in order to have him tell his own story so that
i can feel what is important for him in the story.
Off - His influence is so powerful
that he succeeded in giving his choices for Black
Hawk Down. Electro-acoustic music for the american
soldiers (Personal note - Hard to notice when you've
got the Moby Trailer music playing during the speach).
Rai percussions for the africans.
Off - But you already know Hans
Zimmer. He is the one, with a few friends, that
created the Buggles in the 80's.
(old pictures of Video Killed The
Radio Star clip are shown on screen) Hans Zimmer
- For me, any object is able to become a music instrument.
Off - Since his begining, success is still with
him. The about 20 scores he did made him incontestable.
(Personal note - 20!!!, it is more like 60 now).
Hans Zimmer - I see my job as hearing
what the director wants to have in his movie. But
I try to give him something that go beyond what
he imagines.
