At least this great Barry Levinson film receives a better appreciation with this new release. With the remastered movie are two documentaries, one about mental trouble as Dustin Hoffman portrays Tom Cruise 's autist brother, the other one devoted to movie production with writers, producers and director Barry Levinson talking about how surprising was Rain Man success.

When it came out, Rain Man was considered as a sleeper. Its box office grew more and more after its first screening. Nominated for eight Oscars, including Best Picture, it gains four with Hoffman, Levinson and the two screenwriters. For whatever reason, from script to acting, it is well worth revisiting the movie now and for us, it is a pleasure to hear again Hans Zimmer talking and explaining with brief words how he understood Raymond character.

Simple like the movie, but without strings and piano line, Rain Man mixed music proves to be Charlie's brother right companion. As said in one documentary, if it is not Rain Man that made Zimmer touch, it surely helped him come to light. Now we can have a look at his effort to catch again the mood of a not-so-light character combined with the furious Las Vegas piece of music in its integrity.
