well it is really good passage except it isnt a waltz in that sense because of the 5/4 metrum with an 6/4 expand in the 4th bar:)

I love the music for Gladiator! My fave tracks are #3, #4, #9, #13 and #17!
quote: The Battle: 6.37 - 7.00
This to me is the highlight of the album.
yes that moment is very good! but also amazing is the moment from "Barbarian Horde" 5.07-7.02!

The Battle: 6.37 - 7.00
This to me is the highlight of the album. Who would have ever thought that a waltz would actually work as action-music? That's not only brilliant, it's also the most exciting 23 seconds of film-music I've heard so far.
(Zimmer introduced the waltz-theme because of the 'elegance' and wealth of the Roman Empire.)

Gladiator is indeed great music and the movie is lovely too!
Not only Hans Zimmer but also Lisa Gerrard did a great job!

(Note: If anyone does not agree with me on this, you are tone-deaf.)
When I popped the movie Gladiator into my DVD player, I looked not only for good filmography, but good soundtrack. My search was not in vain. Herr Zimmer demonstrates an extreme talent to writing music. I am a big fan of that adventurous majour-minour-majour music (i.e. key of C minour/Eb majour). But Herr Zimmer is one of a kind. I had never heard music such as that. (By the way, does Herr Zimmer visit this forum, by chance?)
